Identify Cicadas

What do Cicadas look like?

Cicadas are insects known for their buzzing and clicking sounds, produced by specialized structures called tymbals, which they use primarily for mating calls. Cicadas spend most of their lives underground as nymphs, feeding on the sap from plant roots. They emerge as adults in periodic cycles, with some species emerging every 13 or 17 years, depending on the species. Once above ground, they molt, mate, and lay eggs before completing their life cycle, which typically lasts only a few weeks.

Treatment

How we treat Cicadas

We treat cicadas by using methods to target adult cicadas, applying them to areas where cicadas congregate or where damage to vegetation is significant. Additionally, we might provide advice on cultural methods, such as pruning trees to remove egg-laying sites, to help mitigate cicada populations. We aim to reduce the impact of cicadas on the affected area while minimizing harm to non-target organisms.
