How do I reschedule a service appointment?

If you are having difficulties accessing your customer portal or rescheduling your appointment, please contact your customer account manager or email us at [email protected].

Can my pet be outside during treatment?

All pets should be secured and kept away from the treated area during your appointment. Our Service Professionals will not enter into fenced areas where a dog or other pets are visibly present. Our treatments, both in and outside your home, meet applicable standards and follow all guidelines for the appropriate use of products.

What is the benefit of recurring pest control treatments vs one-time treatment as needed?

While most pest treatments typically reduce the general pest population, over time pest populations build back up and treated surfaces lose their protective barrier from a one-time treatment. One-time treatment effectiveness fades fairly quickly for most pesticides on vegetation, especially as plants continue to grow, generating new untreated surface area, including lawns. This is why we recommend recurring treatments to help manage ongoing activity in outdoor areas and on greenery. Certain areas like cracks and crevices, and non-porous surfaces can provide a stable surface for some products to last longer, however, UV light will degrade the treatment as well. Treatments to the structure of the home can last the longest but have little impact on the pest activity in the yard after a few weeks from one single treatment.

What pests do you treat?

Aptive treats common pests like ants, spiders, cockroaches, rodents, wasps, snails, flies, fleas, and ticks. Aptive recently started providing Termite Protection in the Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Columbus areas. Aptive otherwise does not treat any wood-destroying organisms such as termites, carpenter bees, or carpenter ants. Aptive also does not treat any wildlife, such as squirrels, racoons, chipmunks, rabbits, birds, deer, etc. Aptive also does not treat bees of any kind. For a full list, click here.

How long does a treatment take?

Your Initial Treatment and inspection typically take less than 60 minutes to complete, as our service professional does a full scan of your home and property to assess what products and treatments are best based on your needs. Standard Treatments, which are maintenance treatments, can usually be completed in less than 30 minutes.

What does a Standard Treatment include?

Our Standard Treatment includes the following steps inside and outside your home.

Inside the home (as available):

● Treatment of the kitchen, pantry, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, etc.

● Interior monitoring with glue boards

● Perimeter treatment on the main floor (and basement, if applicable) plus the garage

● Placement of fly traps (Pro, Pro+, and Premium)

Outside the home:

● Treatment of eaves

● Home perimeter treatment

● Full yard treatment (Except in NY, unless specifically requested. Additional terms and conditions apply.)

● Bait treatment around the perimeter of the home

● Web and wasp nest removal

● Outdoor yellow jacket trap placement (Pro, Pro+, and Premium plans)

Treatment can vary regionally and seasonally.

Why is the follow-up treatment so soon after the first treatment?

The first two treatments, the Initial and the first Standard Treatment, are 20-40 days apart. This allows us to gain control over pest activity and perform effective maintenance services thereafter. Some infestations may require more frequent services. If between services you’re still seeing pests, you can contact Aptive for a reservice at no additional cost.

Do you offer interior treatment?

All of our services include exterior with interior treatment at no additional cost. The majority of our customers find that exterior maintenance keeps their home protected, but we are happy to treat inside your home and/or garage whenever you would like.

Do I need to be out of the home during or after my appointment?

Not typically, but as a wise precaution, for children under 2, those who are pregnant, those with breathing difficulties, or for interior flea treatment with carpeted rooms, we recommend being out of the home for 2 – 3 hours.

Why am I still seeing pests after my first treatment?

If you are seeing pests right after your treatment, odds are you are witnessing them flee your property, which typically means the treatment is effective. If after a week you are still seeing pests, give us a call and our service professional will gladly return to treat your home at no additional cost.

How do I know that the service was performed?

Our service professional will text you before, during, and after your appointment to keep you up-to-date on the treatment. Once it’s complete, you’ll receive a text with details about your treatment and our service professional will answer any questions you may have.

Can you treat my yard?

We offer treatment of lawns, shrubs, trees, plants, and near gardens, but we will not treat fruit or vegetable plants. Additional terms and conditions apply in the State of New York.

I’m not satisfied with the results of my treatment, what are my options?

Aptive is dedicated to making sure you’re satisfied with our service. We will gladly come out as many times as needed, at no additional cost to you, to ensure your home is protected. Call our customer support team to request a reservice and we’ll work to make things right.

Do you treat attics and crawl spaces?

Our Service Professionals will only enter attics with fully finished flooring. For crawl spaces, they can only enter if the space is 5’ or higher. Otherwise, we can only offer services by reaching in and treating from a safe distance.
